Overview
The FLYCAM Redking is a full-size mechanical stabilizer that floats cameras weighing 0.8 to 7 kg (1.8 to 15.4 lb) — mirrorless and DSLR builds through to rigged compact cinema cameras such as the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2. A sliding dovetail quick-release stage with micro-adjustment sets fore/aft and side-to-side balance precisely, and a three-axis gimbal on a 1" centre post separates your hand from the sled.
The telescopic post extends from 53 cm to 81 cm to tune inertia and drop time, and sixteen counterweight plates on the base let you match the bottom of the sled to the camera on top. Handheld, it delivers smooth tracking shots and walkthroughs; mounted to the FLYCAM Vista-II arm and vest, it carries a full 7 kg camera build through long takes.

- Balance with the exact lens, battery, media and cables that will be used for the take — any change shifts the balance.
- Set static balance first, then tune drop time to about two seconds and spin-test to check dynamic balance.
- Guide the post lightly with your fingertips below the gimbal and walk heel-to-toe; a tight grip defeats the isolation.
- For takes longer than a minute or builds near 7 kg, fly the Redking on the Vista-II arm and vest.
