The RØDE Blimp (second generation) is a full windshield and suspension assembly for shotgun microphones, combining a rigid acoustic basket with a Rycote® Lyre mount to isolate the mic from handling vibration and cable-borne noise. The enclosure reduces wind-induced turbulence across the capsule, with performance extending to high-wind conditions when paired with a fur cover. Internal Mogami cabling is integrated to minimize movement noise and maintain signal integrity along the boom. The system mounts via standard 3/8" thread and supports shotgun microphones up to ~325mm in length, providing consistent off-axis rejection and low-frequency stability during boom operation.
