Overview
Every stand on set needs ballast. This saddle-style sandbag has two weighted pockets joined by a webbing carry handle, so it drapes over a stand leg or base and settles low, where it does the most good.
Its heavy-duty woven fabric stands up to daily location work, and the high-visibility stripe makes stand legs easier to spot — and harder to trip over — on a dark set.

- Use at least one sandbag per stand, and more for booms, flags and anything working in wind.
- Place the bag on the leg below the boom arm or heaviest load so it counters the direction of tip.
- Lay it over the leg close to the floor — never hang a sandbag from an arm, knuckle or riser.
- Keep sandbags dry; a wet bag gets heavy, slumps and can leak fill.
